start spreading the news - the new Manhattan cookie mix

We don't always agree with the Americans – but we do when it comes to confectionery! Thanks to Cereform’s new Manhattan Cookie Mix, bakers can now add a touch of US glamour to their product range.

The UK biscuits and cakes market is valued at over £3 billion and these products remain popular with UK households1.

Cereform is well-known for its bread products but the company also has a vast portfolio of cakes and confectionery to meet any baking needs – the latest addition are the Manhattan Cookie Mixes, which were inspired by the traditional American cookie.

UK bakers can already buy cookie mixes and concentrates, but Cereform found that they were maybe too close to the American taste. So they went back to the drawing board and developed from scratch. Manhattan cookies are a successful product redesign, with an American authenticity but indigenised with the texture and flavour preferences of the British consumers, crispy on the outside but retaining the moisture inside.

With its versatility, Cereform’s Manhattan Cookie Mix is no exception in the Cereform product portfolio. Available in chocolate or plain, bakers can add fruit or nut pieces, or for a truly indulgent treat white or dark chocolate chips. The Manhattan Cookie Mix produces a crispy outer while retaining a soft chewy centre.

The mix is versatile, so while customers can indulge in a luxurious, yet affordable treat, bakers can use the mix to produce a variety of shapes and sizes.

The Manhattan Cookie Mix only requires the addition of egg and butter/margarine, while glycerine adds to the shelf life of the end product.

US-style products are still popular with consumers and Cereform understands the need to offer high-quality products that have an unrivalled taste.

“Our test panel was never more unanimous,” says Marion Bauer, marketing manager at Cereform. “Manhattan cookies taste like they have been made in America, maybe even better. My top tip is to eat them slightly warm to appeal to all your senses!”
