Following a close working partnership with BM Trada, AB Mauri UK & Ireland will be pleased to offer ‘BM Trada Responsibly Sourced’ Soy from June 1st 2015. The announcement was made today (May 19th) at the annual RTRS (Round Table Responsible Soy) conference, held at Hotel Bloom, Brussels.
AB Mauri has now acquired the ‘BM Trada Responsibly Sourced’ accreditation to quantify this method of sourcing.
BM Trada offers several different accreditations across a wide range of industries. The ‘BM Trada Responsibly Sourced’ accreditation creates a direct link between the soy or soy cognate and place of origin, which should be an internationally certified farm dedicated to soy production.
Stephen Tutt, Head of Supply Chain & Procurement at AB Mauri, commented shortly after the conference:
‘We are delighted to announce this important offering. It marks the conclusion of a significant consultation period with BM Trada and being able to make this announcement is very rewarding.
We now look forward to supporting BM Trada and the RTRS for many years to come, whilst challenging further areas of our supply chain to also protect those higher conservation areas.’
Andrew Pollard, Managing Director, also added:
‘AB Mauri UK & Ireland fully endorses a responsible supply chain throughout its bakery ingredient and yeast operations. Whilst being the only UK IP food grade soya miller is advantageous, we also see the importance in providing increased transparency within our supply chain. Our customers have also responded very positively to a further option within our product range.’
